![]() Wincanton Swimming Club has been running at Wincanton Sports Centre since it opened in 2001, and the centre boasts a 25 metre swimming pool situated within a modern, light and airy pool hall.
As a club we pride ourselves on our warm and welcoming atmosphere while still maintaining a healthy competitive attitude. Junior training ranges from swimming lengths, working on fitness, stroke technique and correction, to development squad preparation and competition swimming. All sessions are fully supervised by RLSS qualified lifeguards and the club is entirely run and coached by unpaid volunteers. Junior SessionsThursdays 6.00 - 7.00pm and 7.00 - 8.00pm Sundays 5.00 - 6.00pm and 6.00 - 7.00pm We have several groups swimming lengths working on stroke technique and correction. The first hour groups consist of those swimmers working to improve technique and fitness, and two of the lanes swim lengths for an hour in preparation for the development squad. The second hour group consists of development swimmers training to prepare for galas. All swimmers are encouraged to wear swim hats and boys should wear trunks rather than shorts, we also like swimmers to bring their own fins to training sessions.
